Adjustment to Acquired Disabilities Therapy

The goals of therapy vary depending on your desire to have your disability be a primary focus, how long ago you acquired the disability and your interest in learning about your disability. Therapy can therefore include discussing the impact of your disability on your daily life, adjusting to various physical, mental and emotional challenges and changes, social, work and other relationship related issues and any other areas of your life you feel your disability has impacted.

*Disclaimer: Individuals, couples and families must be cognitively capable of engaging in some level of goal setting, applying what was discussed in session outside of session and retaining or tracking what is being worked on from session to session. If ASL interpreters are needed please work with the therapist to navigate finding and establishing an interpreter for each session.
